A Black doorman at a New York City restaurant has become a viral sensation for being "handsome."
In a now-viral video, Ty Gibbs, a doorman at The Corner Store in SoHo, caught the attention of a woman passing by the restaurant who believed he was handsome.
“Look at this handsome man I found on The Corner Store,” TikToker JudiJupiter said in a TikTok video to her 77,000 followers. “They have lines wrapped around the block before they open.”
During the encounter, Gibbs explained that he's a jack of all trades, juggling jobs as a restaurant doorman, bodyguard, and personal driver.
Video of Gibbs simply doing his job racked up millions of views. After the video went viral, social media users expressed that Gibbs was better suited for the runway.
"Someone get him a modeling contract ASAP," one TikToker commented.
"He seriously should consider modeling though!" another person said.
After her initial video went viral, the TikToker returned to the restaurant to check on the overnight sensation.
“Are you popular?” she asked Ty.
The doorman admitted that his popularity had risen, but said the best compliment he received was one related to his mother.
“Honestly, the biggest compliment I got was that my mother raised me right,” Ty said.
“Believe me, if I do get on the runway, you might have to come with me as my agent,” he told the TikToker.
