Kentucky Senate candidate Daniel Cameron (R) slammed Sen. Mitch McConnell for not supporting President Donald Trump's Cabinet picks amid his bid for the longtime senator's seat.

On Monday (February 24), Cameron shared a video message during which he offered high praise for Trump and said McConnell was "flat out wrong" for voting against confirming Pete Hegseth, Tulsi Gabbard, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for secretary of Defense, director of national intelligence and secretary of Health and Human Services, respectively.

“You should expect a senator from Kentucky to vote for those nominees to advance the ‘America First’ agenda,” Cameron said of the fellow Kentuckian.“If I was in the Senate, I would have voted for those nominees because I recognize it reflects our values and it supports our agendum.”

Cameron's video continued: “I believe in him [Trump] and I believe in the ‘America First’ agenda."

The former Kentucky attorney general made it clear that he supports Trump's stance on Ukraine, DEI, and social and governance practices.

“You know my track record. As attorney general I was fighting for your constitutional rights," Cameron said. “Let’s quit sending money overseas. Let’s take care of our people here in Kentucky and across this great nation."

Cameron is seeking McConnell's seat after the GOP senator announced last week that he wouldn't be running for reelection. That announcement followed news from last year that McConnell would no longer serve as Senate party leader.

McConnell previously acted as a mentor to Cameron, who served as the senator's legal counsel for two years before becoming Kentucky’s first Black attorney general. As AG, Cameron failed to prosecute the officers who killed Breonna Taylor during a no-knock raid. Cameron determined that the use of force by the Louisville Metro Police Department was “justified” under Kentucky law.
