A family is searching for answers after a pregnant mother of four was found dead near a park in Kansas City, Missouri, per PEOPLE.

Elaysha Gilliam, 26, was found dead at roughly 12 weeks pregnant in a field near Dunbar Park in Kansas City on February 19. According to her death certificate, Gilliam, who has four children ranging from two to nine years old, died of multiple gunshot wounds.

“We are trying to stay strong for the grandkids, but it is really hard because she was really loved and nobody really has any answers as to what happened,” Elaysha's father, Ed Gilliam, told the Kansas City Star.

Weeks after Gilliam's death, no arrests have been made, and the Kansas City Police Department said an investigation is "ongoing," per PEOPLE.

“I want closure, we need answers,” Clydetta Gilliam, Elaysha’s stepmother, told the Star. “The police are dragging their feet, but I need to go out here and solve the case myself. They aren’t giving us anything.”

Loved ones described Gilliam as a woman with a "big personality and an even bigger smile" who "loved to be around family."

“I’m not gonna let them sweep this under the rug. I want every single person charged,” Clydetta said. “People are starting to forget about her."

Detectives are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone with information relating to the case, per NBC News.
