Wendy Williams' Mother Reportedly Passes Away

Wendy Williams’ mother, Shirley Williams, has reportedly passed away at the age of 83.

According to MadameNoire, one of the first outlets to break the news on Sunday (December 5), a journalist named Courtney Brown revealed that Shirley recently passed away. Other outlets like The Shade Room and LoveBScott.com have reported the same.

As captured in a screenshot by The Shade Room, Brown shared in a since-deleted Instagram post: “One of my granny’s best friends for 83 years passed away…Mrs. Shirley Williams ?? Always available for my granny and our family, she flew in to share this beautiful speech at granny’s 100th birthday. Mr and Mrs Williams is truly what the kids now call #CoupleGoals May she rest peacefully and prayers to @wendyshow and the entire family.”

Per The Grape Juice, someone else shared the same of Shirley's passing, writing, “I don’t know how to say this… Heaven Gained another Angel unfortunately Mrs. Shirley has passed away. She will definitely missed and one of a kind lady. Please pray for Wendy and her Family during the difficult time. Please respect the family privacy.”

Strangely, however, Brown’s original post — shown below — has since been deleted. As it stands, Shirley’s apparent death has not been substantiated by Wendy nor her team.

As Wendy fans know, Shirley was a learning disabilities resource specialist at the Bradley School in New Jersey. She regularly appeared on The Wendy Williams Show over the years alongside her husband, Thomas Williams Jr., with whom she shares three children — daughters Wendy and Wanda, and son Thomas.

Nevertheless, our thoughts are with Wendy and her family during this time.
