Police Report: Kevin Porter Jr. Allegedly Punched Woman, No Charges Filed

Police reports show that Cleveland Cavs shooting guard Kevin Porter Jr. was accused of punching a woman in the face in August, but the women involved in the alleged altercation never pressed charges against the NBA player.

Reports state that shortly after midnight on August 16, one of the women apparently “exchanged words” with Porter’s sister in a downtown Cleveland apartment building. Porter’s sister allegedly punched her. The woman’s friend said that Porter then ripped her weave out and punched her in the face, cleveland.com reported Tuesday (November 17).

Porter, 20, left the scene before police could talk with him about the incident, and the women refused EMS, reports show. About three months later, they haven't pressed charges, according to cleveland.com.

“There is no truth to this allegation which is why the allegation has led nowhere,” Attorney Alex Spiro, who represents Porter, said in a statement. Separately, Spiro said he was “gathering information” on Porter’s arrest this week.

Authorities arrested Porter on Sunday (November 15). He was charged with improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle and possession of marijuana.

“We are aware of the situation involving Kevin Porter Jr. and are in the process of gathering information,” the Cavs said in a statement “We have spoken with Kevin and will continue to address this privately with him as the related process evolves.”

The Cavs also addressed the alleged August incident with Porter at the time, a spokesman told cleveland.com.
